First Day of Kindergarten!

Today's Morgan's first day at school. Her teacher is Mrs. Sandberg, and she seems very nice. We met her the Thursday before school started.

Morgan got up at 6:15 this morning. She set her own alarm and woke up excited about her day. Daddy made her pancakes and bacon for breakfast. Mommy helped her get around and by 7:00 we were at the gate waiting for the bus.

"Is it coming yet, Daddy? Can I look? Can you pick me up to see? Hey, I think I see it!"

Getting on the bus was no big deal. She sat next to another little kindergarten girl. A friend of ours told us to make sure to brief Morgan on the lack of seatbelts in the bus...it threw his daughter for a loop the first day of school. She was used to sitting in a car seat and wearing a belt. I had never thought of that being an issue!

How about that! She walked into the school without looking back! That's good--how it should be, at least that's what I keep telling myself.
