Who says there's no time for fun during harvest? We snuck away for a couple of hours to go play in the river. Check out the old beaver dam in the background.
Building a sand castle next to the river. There were lots of minnows! Morgan learned that it's impossible to catch them with your hands, even though they're inches from her hand. Caleb learned that even a tiny current can carry your toys away in a hurry.
We went looking for some sandy areas and cool running water, but instead we found dead fish and crawdads, a wide variety of animal tracks, bull bones, an old beaver dam and some stinky water! Doesn't matter--we had a great time anyway, and learned a lot! The best lessons in life: when the unexpected happens and you have to deal with what nature hands you!
