Kim and the kids watched daddy fly the pattern from the zoo--he had to work flying the CJ4. He was easy to spot--we just had to look for the "pokey nose." We counted eggs, collected candy, and spotted animals before the crowd got too crazy.
Then we came home and found the egg in our chicken coop, then had the little chicks join the hens for a while.
A little after this picture, we decided to let the hens out to explore the yard. When it came time to go in and cook supper, we needed to pen the poultry. Apparently the hens thought we were thinking about having fried chicken for supper, and were not interested in decorating the supper table. Kim, Rio, Morgan and Caleb tried to herd them back into the pen. Being more of a hunter than a herder, Rio was promptly put in the house. Morgan and Caleb learned that you can't run right at the chickens, and Kim decided that it's time for the barbed-wire fence to come down!
An hour and a half and two phone calls to experienced chicken wranglers later, Aaron made it home from work, saw the exasperation in Kim's face, busted up laughing, retrieved the floor squeegie, and scraped the simple-minded biddies back in their pen. By the time this was over, Kim WAS ready for some fried chicken!
After supper, the kids hunted eggs. Caleb decided to sit down to count his eggs, not realizing there was one right under his nose!
Enjoying the spoils!
