Reality of Life

One of the chickens (from our spring batch of golden comets) happened to wander into the shed one HOT day. The heat index was well above 100. She got locked in there accidentally, and when we discovered her, it was too late.

Morgan wanted to bury her and make a sign.

Caleb wanted to cut it open, examine the innards, then eat her.

Since she had been dead a while, we opted to bury her.

RIP, Apple. I think we've had about 6 chickens named Apple now. Not sure if that was really her name, but it works. In case you're wondering what the log is for...Rio was trying to dig it up. He's bound and determined to have him some chicken nuggets.
