Been Paintin'

In the spirit of maintenance and beautification, Aaron and I took part in one of the "joys" of homeownership: painting. First, though, we had to remove wallpaper borders in every room. I still think that whoever invented wallpaper should be tarred and feathered. Anyway, the kids' rooms got a make-over and so did the hallway and dining area.

Aaron's natural tendency toward higher altitudes helped us in painting the stairwell. There are some days when Kim's glad she's short...this was one of them! I'm not so sure a step stool on top of the ladder would have worked too well.

Morgan's room is painted yellow and we installed a map of the world on her wall. The planets hanging from the ceiling glow in the dark, and Morgan wants to hear about one planet each night.

Caleb's room is painted blue, and we're looking for some appropriate airplane stick-ups to put on the wall. We don't have all of the decorations in place yet, but Caleb is thrilled with his new "big boy bed."

Unfortunately, we're still not done with the painting. We have the master bedroom, TV room, front room, and basement still to go. We'll see how long it takes us to finish up....
